Aramex ships prized U2 guitars.

TWOWAY - an Aramex global company - has underwritten the expense to move two highly prized guitars, donated by rock supergroup U2, from the USA to the UK on behalf of the Samaritans charity. The UK arm of the charity will be auctioning the guitars - both autographed by all members of the band - to raise funds at an auction.

American actor Declan Joyce donated the guitars on the band's behalf and personally handed them over to TwoWay Aramex USA Sales Director Joeri Groenwoud, who then delivered them into Martinair's Los Angeles airport facility himself.

Aramex agreed to fully accept the cost and care in shipping the prized guitars, which comes in line with the company's ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts.

On arrival in the UK Director International Express - Anthony O'Neill was on hand to inspect the guitars to make sure they had arrived safely before onwards delivery to the Samaritans in Kent.

"It really was quite exciting," says O'Neill. "We handle plenty of precious shipments in the course of a year, but this one had The Edge - and Bono, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. too of course! Meticulous planning and our personal attention to detail made sure everything went off precisely according to plan," he added.
