Arabian racing opportunities for riders.

THE Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) is launching a jockey development programme, with the support of the British Racing School.

The scheme is intended to give amateur and unlicensed jockeys, aged 16-21, the opportunity to hone raceday skills in arabian races.

Successful applicants will be awarded a placement with an arabian racehorse racehorse

 trainer, and jockeys are entitled to a grant towards travel expenses and purchasing equipment while they are on the programme.

ARO is keen to target riders who have grown too old to take part in pony racing Pony racing has been happening in Ireland for donkeys' years. Races are held throughout the country starting late April and finishing in October. There are approximately 7 races on a Sunday, starting at 13 Hands, 14 Hands 14. , and those considering taking out an apprentice or conditional licence and want more track experience before riding under rules.
