Show Will See Record Number of Horses Entered This Year

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Arabian Horse Association The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) is the single national organization that is the only breed registry that registers Arabian horses in the United States. It also works with the United States Equestrian Federation to sanction horse shows and license judges for Arabian horses.  of Arizona (AHAA AHAA Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies

Each year, these amazing, athletic and beautiful Arabian horses compete with each other in a wide variety of classes. Nearly anything you can imagine a horse doing will be on display at this annual Arabian Horse mecca. There are even costume classes in which rider and horse are adorned with wonderfully ornate and elaborate dressings that often speak to the history of this breed as Bedouin mounts.

Along with the engaging performance classes, visitors marvel at the fine arts, crafts, clothing and jewelry in the Shopping Expo adjacent to the main arena. Artisans and entrepreneurs come from large distances to show their hand-made leather goods and offer a wide variety of products and services.

Visitors will also enjoy the variety of food available on the showground. Typically, one can find those rare, but oh-so-delicious, foods like Indian fry bread with powdered sugar or pinto beans and ice cream cones dipped in chocolate. Of course the usual fare exists as well (hot dogs, burritos, hamburgers and such).

While on the grounds, visitors are also welcome to visit the barn areas and ask owners and trainers to see and pet the horses. Those interested in getting up-close to these horses and learning more about them are also encouraged to attend the "Behind The Scenes" tour, or even the Meet An Arabian Horse exhibition (dates and times can be found at the end of this release).

In all, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and Shopping Expo is a fantastic way to spend a great day outdoors and do something different. Families are highly encouraged to attend. The show opens each day to visitors at 8:00 a.m. WestWorld is located just North of Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd., and just East of Pima Road in Scottsdale.

Tickets are available each day at the gate, or through Ticketmaster at 480-784-4444. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for Seniors and children 12 and under get in free. Proceeds from the show go to local children's charities, including Phoenix Children's Hospital, The March of Dimes
