Aquracy.com and Open Scan Technologies Team to Speed Exception-Mail Handling.

Business Editors

CHICAGO and BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2000

Aquracy.com(TM) Corporation and Open Scan(TM) Technologies Inc., today announced an agreement to offer their customers a unique solution for automating the labor-intensive exception mail found in some of today's remittance-processing operations.

Exception mail (any remittance Money sent from one individual to another in the form of cash, check, or some other manner.

mail that requires operator intervention) is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Documents must be sorted by size or content, scanned, stored and individually archived. This often requires multiple workstations and multiple operators. By combining the solutions offered by Aquracy.com and Open Scan, all envelope contents of exception mail can now be scanned immediately upon opening, without presorting, which eliminates costly manual operations.

"We are pleased to offer our customers a mailroom-imaging solution that can accurately capture full-page or mixed-content documents that are typically associated with exception and mid- to high-tier volume processing," said James S. Cowen, President of Aquracy.com. "By imaging all contents in a given envelope and keeping all documents together, Open Scan's technology protects content and transaction integrity."
