) has completed the sale of its Southeast Texas Southeast Texas is a subregion of East Texas located in the southeast corner of the U.S. state of Texas. The subregion is geographically centered around the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown and Beaumont–Port Arthur metropolitan areas.  and Mid-Continent natural gas pipeline systems and natural gas and gas liquids processing assets, as well as its 50 percent ownership in the Oasis pipeline system, to Energy Transfer Company for approximately $265 million. At closing Aquila received approximately $221 million in cash. The balance of the purchase price has been fully funded and will be disbursed upon the resolution of certain contract assignments and other matters.

Aquila intends to use the proceeds from this transaction and other asset sales to redeem and retire its existing indebtedness as part of its commitment to improve its credit profile.
