The pleasure, joy, and gaiety of a festival or celebration. 3. get under way at noon with a flotilla of boats crossing Thomas Telford's famous aqueduct aqueduct (ăk`wədŭkt) [Lat.,=conveyor of water], channel or trough built to convey water, chiefly for providing a densely populated region with a supply of freshwater. . It will be followed by a 16-gun salute, a short play entitled A Day in the Life of Thomas Telford and a Napoleonic battle re-enactment. The celebrations end with a spectacular firework display at 4.30pm. The event is expected to attract a large crowd but only the disabled will be allowed to park at Trevor basin.
