Aquatics mourns a loss.


Ken Ward, a highly respected aquatics industry leader, has passed away. As principal in charge of Water Technology, Inc., since 1998, he shared his knowledge as a leader and mentor. He had more than 15 years in the aquatics industry, planning and engineering design of facilities through the manufacturing of pool related products. His project experience consists of competition facilities including world-class Olympic facilities, as well as YMCA YMCA
 in full Young Men's Christian Association

Nonsectarian, nonpolitical Christian lay movement that aims to develop high standards of Christian character among its members.
 pools, high school pools, and both indoor and outdoor family aquatic centers around the country.

Ward passed away on May 12, and at his eulogy on May 16, Wayne Hughes Wayne Hughes was a New Zealand Pentecostal minister. Until early 2005, he was the Senior Pastor of the Takapuna Assembly of God in Auckland. A photographer by training, Hughes became Pastor of the Takapuna Assembly of God in 1975.  of the Hughes Group Architects called Ken, "an engineer and an artist." Ward truly loved water in motion, and with one of his most recent projects, the University of Houston pool, has left a legacy to his own design ability--one that is being hailed as "one of the best in the country."

He also designed other award-winning projects including Cascade Bay Family Aquatic Center, The Splash at Fossil Trace, Wheat Ridge Wheat Ridge, city (1990 pop. 29,419), Jefferson co., N central Colo., a suburb of Denver; inc. 1969. Chiefly residential, Wheat Ridge is the site of an annual carnation festival.  Recreation Center, Princeton University's Bernard Shea Rowing Center, University of Illinois University of Illinois may refer to:
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (flagship campus)
  • University of Illinois at Chicago
  • University of Illinois at Springfield
  • University of Illinois system
It can also refer to:
 Campus Recreation Center, Detroit Area YMCA, McDowell Mountain Ranch and the Littleton Recreation Center.

Ward is survived by his wife Terri Ward and their three daughters, Tara, Kelly and Ashley Trimmer trimmer

As a tribute to his talent and compassion, the "Ken Ward Youth Scholarship Fund" has been created in his name. Donations may be forwarded to Water Technology Inc., PO Box 614, Beaver Dam Beaver Dam, city (1990 pop. 14,196), Dodge co., SE Wis., on Beaver Dam Lake, in a productive farm and dairy area; inc. 1856. Industries included food processing, metal and metal products fabrication, printing, and machinery manufacturing. , WI, 53916.
