A state-of-the-art water treatment facility, New Castle's plant was built in 1993 and provides public drinking water drinking water supply of water available to animals for drinking supplied via nipples, in troughs, dams, ponds and larger natural water sources; an insufficient supply leads to dehydration; it can be the source of infection, e.g. leptospirosis, salmonellosis, or of poisoning, e.g. to 23,600 people in the communities of New Castle and Pleasantville. Its treatment capacity is 10 million gallons per day. Treatment processes at the facility include the use of the latest and most advanced treatment technology, known as Dissolved Air Flotation Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewaters (or other waters) by the removal of suspended matter such as oil or solids. The removal is achieved by dissolving air in the water or wastewater under pressure and then releasing the air at (DAF).
