MPL is an up-to-date training program, established by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), specialized agency of the United Nations, organized in 1947, with headquarters at Montreal. The objective of the ICAO, which has 187 member nations, is to encourage the orderly growth of international civil aviation, ) in November 2006, designed to give trainee pilots the aeronautical knowledge found in the existing programs with added emphasis on airline related modules: Multi-Crew Cooperation, Cockpit Resource Management, Threat and Error ManagementC*etc.MPL is a competency based-approach training scheme, seen as a way to improve pilot training by introducing high technology training devices, at each of the MPL's four phases: Core Flying Skills, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. The objective of such a program is to provide the airline industry with highly qualified, better trained pilots who are aligned with the requirements of a First Officer's position, with the expectation of being fully supportive to his captain inside the cockpit. CARC is in the process of certifying this program through its MPL committee, in collaboration with the local aviation industry.By adopting this new training scheme, the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authorities prove their progressive and innovative approach and position in the Middle East. IATA who also supports MPL through the ITQI (IATA's Training and Qualification Initiative) helped the organization of the MPL forum by inviting world experts to participate and present their MPL perspectives.
