Aptuit, Inc. Completes Acquisition of Almedica International; Deal Close Marks Another Milestone in Company's Vision to Engineer a Better Drug Development Process.

GREENWICH, Conn., DEESIDE, U.K. and ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Aptuit, Inc., a company focused on streamlining and supporting the drug development process for biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovators, announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Almedica International. Almedica provides clinical trial materials to more than 150 customers globally, including many of the largest pharmaceutical companies, and has facilities in Allendale, New Jersey and Deeside, United Kingdom. The acquisition expands Aptuit's clinical trial materials service offering, and brings to the Company additional professionals, new GMP facilities and enhanced IT capabilities.

Aptuit announced plans earlier this year to acquire Quintiles Early Development and Packaging business units. When this acquisition is completed on September 30, 2005, Aptuit will be the largest global provider of global clinical packaging and logistics services by capacity. By combining the Almedica and Quintiles EDP units, Aptuit will offer a complete suite of drug development services that includes regulatory and strategic consulting, informatics, preclinical technologies, drug substance and drug product development, as well as clinical trial materials.

In turn, Aptuit customers will have access to centrally-managed resources from five GMP global packaging and logistics facilities, with over 30 primary and over 50 secondary packaging suites, complemented by 27 clinical supply distribution depots reaching over 70 countries around the globe.

Following the close of both agreements, Aptuit will employ nearly 2,000 employees in seven global facilities, with units that generated total revenues of over $200 million by providing services to more than 250 customers in the past year. Aptuit's goal is to build a world-class drug development service company, through acquisition and investments in talent, technologies and infrastructure. The Greenwich, Connecticut based Company intends to invest $60 million in the combined business over the next three years.
