Aptera Electric Vehicle Makes Houston Debut at Monday Night Football.

Reliant, NRG, Aptera and Houston Texans Team-up to Present Advanced Electric Vehicle

HOUSTON -- Highlighting that electric vehicles can come in many shapes and sizes, Reliant Energy, an NRG Energy company (NYSE: NRG), teamed up with the Houston Texans and electric vehicle manufacturer Aptera to bring Aptera's prototype electric vehicle to Houston for Monday Night Football.

Texans fans had the opportunity to experience the Aptera 2e before the game at Reliant Stadium and learn more about what NRG and Reliant are doing to expand the adoption of electric vehicles in Houston and across Texas.

Reliant Energy and NRG are working to make the switch to cleaner, cheaper to operate electric vehicles practical and easy for consumers. The Houston debut of the Aptera is part of Reliant and NRG's comprehensive effort to speed up the adoption of a broad-based electric-powered transportation ecosystem. On Friday, November 13, Reliant and Nissan announced an agreement to work together to make Houston a launch city for the broader use of electric vehicles by the American public, businesses and public organizations. On Monday, November 16 NRG joined with automakers, utilities, battery manufacturers, smart grid and infrastructure companies to form the Electrification Coalition to help guide the transformation of light-duty ground transportation from fossil fuels to electricity. On Tuesday, November 17, Reliant and the city of Houston launched a pilot program to put more plug-in hybrid cars on the streets of Houston.
