Apptix, a premiere provider of on-demand, managed messaging and collaboration solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, today announced the donation of its Hosted Windows(R) SharePoint(R) Services to LINGOs (Learning for International Non-Governmental Organizations). The implementation supports LINGOs' global initiatives to promote the collaboration and sharing of learning resources to members who manage relief and development initiatives in over 80 countries worldwide. As part of the donation, Apptix will provide up to 1,000 members access to the service.

International non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in developing countries employ thousands of local workers requiring technical and administrative training. To ensure these needs are met, NGOs rely on collaborative online environments to deliver curriculum, hold virtual meetings, post job announcements and exchange time sensitive information. By leveraging the donated Apptix Hosted SharePoint based solution, the NGOs are able to eliminate geographical barriers to better communicate and collaborate, thereby increasing productivity both within each member organization and across the NGO community.

Previously, NGOs trying to connect were hindered by firewalls preventing such collaboration.
