Apptis Appoints Gloria R. Parker SVP Business Development & Strategy, Public & Commercial Sector.


CHANTILLY, Va. -- Apptis, Inc. announced today that Gloria R. Parker, former senior adviser for technology and communications for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, has been appointed Sr. Vice President Business Development & Strategy for its Public & Commercial Sector.

Parker, who will assume her duties with Apptis on April 18, 2005, also served as HUD's first Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer during her tenure at the agency from 1998 through 2005.

Before joining HUD, Ms. Parker was Deputy Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Education where she served from 1994-1998. She also was healthcare regional program director for Tandem Computers; president of Case McCoy Rogers & Associates; and held systems engineering, marketing, and executive management positions at the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Corporation.

Ms. Parker, who has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of national information systems marketing, sales and technical management, earned her B.S. degree in mathematics and economics from Hampton University. She also did graduate studies in mathematical statistics at Ohio State University Ohio State University, main campus at Columbus; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1870, opened 1873 as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1878. There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark. .
