In this practical, hands-on training lab, attendees will customize and deploy a powerful, analytic application from a pre-built analytic solution. Information technology (IT) professionals and developers who want to deliver affordable, domain-specific packaged analytics, as well as business intelligence solution providers who recognize the market surge towards packaged analytics should attend the class. Specifically, attendees will deploy a pre-built analytic application integrating a CRM module with external demographic information to create:
-- SQL Server 2000 Data Warehouse

-- SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services database

-- SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages

-- Microsoft Excel 2000 and Knosys ProClarity 3.0 reports

-- Use Appsmart 2.0 to customize and deploy the solution

-- Package the customized solution

"TDWI is very excited to see this analytic application training lab being offered at our Leadership Conference," said Wayne Eckerson, TDWI's director of research and education. "We believe this class represents a natural extension of our educational format and that our conference attendees will benefit greatly from taking this hands-on approach to learning."

The training class will kick off with a keynote address by Colin White, president of DataBase Associates, a leading business intelligence consultancy. As an analyst and consultant, White specializes in data warehousing, analytic applications Analytic Applications are a type of business application software, used to measure and improve the performance of business operations. In his keynote address, "Customizable Components: The Key to Analytic Application Mass Deployment," White will take a detailed look at the component approach to analytic application development, and review what he believes are crucial product requirements in this rapidly growing marketplace.

"Analytic applications are essential to providing companies with the business intelligence needed to make informed decisions and to take rapid action when business goals are not being achieved," White said. Appsmart 2.0 provides a powerful development platform for application developers and ISVs who wish to build analytic applications that are easy to customize. Appsmart, Microsoft and Knosys have effectively teamed up to deliver a compelling end-to-end analytic application development solution that can be cost-effectively deployed by a broad range of companies with limited IT resources and budgets," White said.
