The announcement follows a December installation ceremony at Manhattan's St. Regis Hotel, at which many of the organization's most prominent New York and national members were in attendance. Mark F. Weitzman, MAI, of The Weitzman Group, was appointed first vice president; John M. Pearson, MAI, of Pearson Partners, was appointed second vice president; Joel Leitner, MAI, of Leitner Group Leitner Group is a South Tyrolean (Italian) conglomerate that owns and runs several industrial and equipment companies. Founded in 1888, Leitner formed Leitner Group in a reorg in 2003. As of 2005, the group employs 1500 people. , was appointed secretary, and Matthew |C. Mondanile, MAI, of Cushman & Wakefield, was appointed treasurer. The Appraisal Institute's 2005 National President Bruce Bruce, Scottish royal family descended from an 11th-century Norman duke, Robert de Brus. He aided William I in his conquest of England (1066) and was given lands in England. Kellogg, MAI, of Cushman & Wakefield, and the immediate past president Gary P. Taylor, MAI, of Rogers & Taylor Appraisers, were present at the St. Regis Hotel installation ceremony.
