Appraisers Institute installs new leaders.

 Chapter of the Appraisal Institute The Appraisal Institute (Institute), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is an international association of professional real estate appraisers.[1] It was founded in January 1991 when the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (AIREA) and the , the Manhattan arm of the international membership association of leading real estate appraisers, announced its officers and directors for 2005.

The announcement follows a December installation ceremony at Manhattan's St. Regis Hotel, at which many of the organization's most prominent New York and national members were in attendance.

, of Federal Appraisal & Consulting, was appointed president for 2005.

He succeeds Daniel F. Sciann-ameo, MAI, of Albert Valuation Group, immediate past president.

Four prominent members were also appointed to officer posts for 2005. Marilyn K. Weitzman, MAI, of The Weitzman Group, was appointed first vice president; John M. Pearson, MAI, of Pearson Partners, was appointed second vice president; Joel Leitner, MAI, of Leitner Group Leitner Group is a South Tyrolean (Italian) conglomerate that owns and runs several industrial and equipment companies.

Founded in 1888, Leitner formed Leitner Group in a reorg in 2003. As of 2005, the group employs 1500 people.
, was appointed secretary, and Matthew |C. Mondanile, MAI, of Cushman & Wakefield, was appointed treasurer.

The Appraisal Institute's 2005 National President Bruce Bruce, Scottish royal family descended from an 11th-century Norman duke, Robert de Brus. He aided William I in his conquest of England (1066) and was given lands in England.  Kellogg, MAI, of Cushman & Wakefield, and the immediate past president Gary P. Taylor, MAI, of Rogers & Taylor Appraisers, were present at the St. Regis Hotel installation ceremony.
