Appraisal Institute helps sponsor AARO New Orleans conference. (Industry and Institute News).As an affiliate sponsor of the Association of Appraiser Regulatory Officials, the Appraisal Institute The Appraisal Institute (Institute), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is an international association of professional real estate appraisers.[1] It was founded in January 1991 when the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (AIREA) and the pledged $2,000 to sponsor the opening reception of their spring conference, held April 12-15 in New Orleans. The session was about what the role of the sponsors were in supporting the goals of AARO. For its part, Hummel said the Appraisal Institute brings its knowledge of the education process and how it affects the administering and review of qualifications. "We lend our expertise to the administrative side of state licensing," Hummel said. "Many Appraisal Institute members are involved with state licensing boards and our involvement with AARO helps in two ways: it helps our members who are involved and it helps the profession as a whole by making sure qualified individuals are serving on the boards," he added. AARO Secretary/Treasurer Thomas J. Garnett issued a letter of thanks to the Appraisal Institute stating, in part, "We truly appreciate his attendance which was a great help with our Spring Conference. |
