Appointments to the Scientific Review Committee for 2005.The Foundation for Physical Therapy announces the appointment of 4 new members to its Scientific Review Committee (SRC) for 2005: G Kelley Fitzgerald, PE, PhD PhD abbr. , OCS, University of Pittsburgh; Carolyn Patten, PT Latin Philosophiae Doctor (Doctor of Philosophy) PT The two-character ISO 3166 country code for PORTUGAL., PhD, Stanford University; Christopher Powers, PT, PhD, University of Southern California; and Sue Ann Sisto, PT, PhD, Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Corporation. The new members will begin their 3-year terms on January 1, 2005. The following members of the SRC are rotating off on December 31, 2004: Richard Clendaniel, PT, PhD, Duke University; Anthony Delitto, Pl;, PhD, FAPTA FAPTA - Fellows of the American Physical Therapy Association, University of Pittsburgh; Diane Jette, PT, DSc, Simmons College; and David Sinacore, PT, PhD, Washington University Washington University, at St. Louis, Mo.; coeducational; est. as Eliot Seminary 1853, opened 1854, renamed 1857. It has a well-known medical school and school of social work as well as research centers for radiology, space studies, engineering computing, and the visual arts. in St Louis. The Foundation deeply appreciates their service to the profession and the science of physical therapy. The SRC is composed of physical therapists with strong research and publication backgrounds and significant grant writing and review experience. The SRC meets twice a year to review applications for Foundation scholarships, fellowships, and grants. This committee recommends research and fellowship projects with the highest scientific merit and importance to physical therapy and scholarship applications of doctoral students with the greatest potential for adding to the body of knowledge in physical therapy to the Board of Trustees for funding. Members of the SRC also present information, advice, and helpful tips on applying for Foundation scholarships, fellowships, and grants during the professional issues forum, "Foundation Funding: How to Get It," at APTA conferences.
