Applix TM1 Web Sales Continue Momentum in Q4 2003; TM1 Web Allows Users to Create Websheets Directly from Excel to Share Information with Anyone Inside or Outside the Enterprise.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2004

Applix, Inc. (Nasdaq: APLX), a global provider of Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Performance Management (BPM) software solutions, today announced new sales of TM1 Web during Q4 2003. TM1 Web, which launched in September 2003, is Applix's real-time BI solution for its flagship analytics engine, TM1.

Applix's unique BIshare(TM) technology makes TM1 Web the only application from a major BI vendor that allows users to quickly and easily create real-time Web-based worksheets or 'Websheets' directly from within Microsoft Excel, allowing users to share enterprise data and facilitating forecasting, planning and budgeting through 'what-if' analyses.

"Sales of TM1 Web are growing steadily because companies are learning that TM1 enables real-time 'what if' analysis that provides unique perspectives into a company's past and potential performance - TM1 Web capitalizes on these capabilities," said David Menninger, vice president worldwide marketing for Applix. "Our customers are extremely excited by TM1 Web. The ability to efficiently create 'Websheets' from TM1 data and share that analysis with others across the enterprise, using a familiar program like Excel, provides instant value to our customers."
