Appligent Alliance Program to Provide Integrators with Software for Developing PDF-related Applications.

Business Editors

LANSDOWNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2002

Appligent, (www.appligent.com), a leading provider of PDF-related software applications, today unveiled a new Alliance Program designed to help integrators and consultants develop more powerful electronic document management applications for their clients.

The Appligent Alliance Program arms integrators and consultants with a menu of Appligent software tools that reside in-house and can be tested and deployed as part of development projects. Partners in this Alliance Program can choose among three levels of participation: Silver, Gold and Platinum. Platinum level participation provides partners with the use of all Appligent products on three platforms for one year, as well as for co-marketing opportunities. The program, regardless of level, must be renewed annually, which extends the use of the software and technical support. Partners are also sent new versions of software upon availability.

Appligent supports most of the leading computing platforms including Windows NT/2000, Solaris, AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) IBM's Unix-based operating system which runs on its Intellistation workstations and pSeries, p5, iSeries and i5 server families. , Red Hat Linux Red Hat Linux, assembled by Red Hat, was a popular, "middle-aged" Linux distribution (not as old as Slackware but older than Ubuntu) upon its discontinuation in 2004.[1]

For those solution providers interested in including Appligent software tools as part of their own solution, Appligent offers reseller, VAR or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreements in addition to the Alliance Program. Appligent's existing reseller, Pro Technology Automation, Inc., is now a silver member. Pro Technology Automation, an Adobe/Accelio partner, integrates Appligent's SecurSign 2.0 and APCrypt into their e-document presentment and delivery solution, "Adobe Accelio Present Central."

"SecurSign 2.0 and APCrypt have become a valuable addition to Adobe Accelio Present Central, providing our customers with a method of electronically delivering secured PDF files," says Dan Roth, president of Pro Technology Automation. "By joining this Alliance Program, we now have the unlimited ability to quickly test and deploy SecurSign 2.0 in-house at our disposal, as well as allowing us to test new versions of SecurSign as they become available."
