Bed Trakker

Bed Trakker is CTI-enabled through a Siemens Rolm communication management product called ComManager. ComManager's open links enable Bed Trakker to report a room's condition through a dedicated telephone extension, which is forwarded to an application voice server (AVS (Audio Video Coding Standard) A video compression technique developed by Chinese companies and supported by the Chinese government. Expected to provide better compression than MPEG-2, AVS was created to avoid paying royalties to the MPEG licensors, which are outside ). The AVS prompts the employee for an identification code and sends the information to the housekeeping or admissions department where the information is viewed on Applied Voice Systems' Real Time Viewer. Bed Trakker utilizes bedside telephones, and in most cases, existing computer systems. With Bed Trakker, management can determine the number of beds available, the bed turn-around time and overall service time.

"Computer telephony is fast becoming the driving force in the development of new applications for the healthcare market," said Glen Kirsch kirsch

Bed Trakker is the first Siemens Rolm Ready certified product to use DDE links to integrate telephony features with Windows-based applications. ComManager ships as a complete kit, ComManager PRO, that includes hardware, TAPI and DDE drivers and the Siemens Rolm's ComManager telephony application for Windows. ComManager is supported on 9751 CBX releases 5.0 and higher and runs on PCs running Windows 3.x and Windows 95. ComManager Pro offers the industry's best value in CTI solutions, with a list price off $299.
