Rankings for the 1999 Canadian Technology Fast 50 awards were based on the percentage of growth in revenues over the past five years. ATS ranked 30 among the fifty companies selected, sporting a 934 percent growth over the five-year period.

The Canadian Technology Fast 50 is a national program that annually honors 50 high technology companies that have achieved extraordinary commercial success through the highest rates of revenue growth over the previous five-year period.

Eligibility for the award was based on five criteria. Candidates had to be considered a technology company. Other criteria included having a business life span of five or more years, having 1994 revenues of at least $75,000, having 1998 revenues of at least $1,000,000 and being legally incorporated and headquartered in Canada. The ranking of the 50 fastest-growing companies included public and private, large and small, and all technology industry segments, including biotechnology, semiconductors, Internet, software and communications.
