Applied Process Technology Appoints Douglas A. Liddie as COO.PLEASANT HILL, Calif. -- Applied Process Technology Measured in Nanometers The size of the features (the elements that make up the structures on a chip) used to be measured in micrometers. A 3 µm process technology, also called a "technology node," referred to a silicon chip with features three micrometers in size. Today, features are measured in nanometers. A 130 nm process technology refers to features 130 nm or 0.13 µm in size., Inc. ("Applied") has appointed Douglas A. Liddie as its Chief Operating Officer effective May 1, 2004. Mr. Liddie holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Before joining Applied, Mr. Liddie founded Environmental Navigator, Inc., an environmental management consulting firm specializing in the design and deployment of environmental management systems. He also served as President of The Gauntlett Group, LLC, an international environmental management and cost-accounting consulting firm. Other positions previously held by Mr. Liddie include Vice President of EMCOM EMCOM - Environmental Management Career Opportunities for Minorities, a publicly-held environmental engineering company headquartered in Silicon Valley, Chief Financial Officer of EMCON EMCON - Electromagnetic Emission Control EMCON - Emergency Condition EMCON - Emission Control Associates, Inc., and a member of the Board of Directors of Columbia Analytical Services, Inc.
