Applied OLAP, Inc. Announces Initiative to Support the Use of Hyperion Essbase XTD in Sun's StarOffice 6.1 Suite.

Applied OLAP, Inc., a software development company that caters exclusively to users of the industry-leading Hyperion Essbase XTD, today announced that it is developing the StarOffice (TM) Calc Application Add-in for Hyperion Essbase XTD. The Calc Application is Sun Microsystem's spreadsheet component to the StarOffice (TM) 6.1 Suite. StarOffice software is an affordable alternative in office productivity suites that runs on multiple operating systems, including Solaris(TM) Operating Environment, Microsoft Windows, and Linux.

The new Calc Application Add-in will support popular Hyperion Essbase XTD functionality for ad-hoc analysis similar to the capabilities found in the other Hyperion Essbase spreadsheet add-ins. The product release is expected to be coincident with the release of StarOffice 6.1 this summer.
