Applied NanoWorks Announces Optically Transparent Pinnacle Zinc Oxide.

WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- New Zinc Oxide zinc oxide, chemical compound, ZnO, that is nearly insoluble in water but soluble in acids or alkalies. It occurs as white hexagonal crystals or a white powder commonly known as zinc white.  Suspension Delivers the First Optically Clear Coating and Additive for UV and Anti-Bacterial Applications

Applied NanoWorks, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of its improved Pinnacle Zinc Oxide, a water based colloid colloid (kŏl`oid) [Gr.,=gluelike], a mixture in which one substance is divided into minute particles (called colloidal particles) and dispersed throughout a second substance.  that delivers optical transparency, neutral pH and particle sizes below 10nm in a suspension that utilizes no coatings or surfactants.

Zinc Oxide is best known for its ultra-violet light absorbing capabilities as well as its antibacterial antibacterial /an·ti·bac·te·ri·al/ (-bak-ter´e-al) destroying or suppressing growth or reproduction of bacteria; also, an agent that does this.

effects. Application areas include electronics, cosmetics, coatings and other personal care products. Historically, even the smallest zinc oxide particles have delivered suspensions that were cloudy. Pinnacle Zinc Oxide is the first 100% transparent zinc oxide suspension available in the zinc oxide market.

"Pinnacle Zinc Oxide establishes a new benchmark for markets and products requiring UV absorption and optical clarity. Interest in transparent suspensions that improve product performance has been very high and our crystalline zinc oxide is the first material to deliver on these requirements," said Eric Burnett, president percent CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Applied NanoWorks. "Our next priority is on increasing our manufacturing capacity to keep up with demand."

Pinnacle Zinc Oxide's particles have a median size below 5nm with tight size distributions which enables its unique suspension. No coatings are applied to the zinc oxide nor are any surfactants used to aid in suspending the particles. Neutral pH and 10% solids content combine with particle purity to increase the suspension's flexibility and performance in manufacturing and gives product engineers and researchers maximum functionality.

"Our ability to produce transparent UV absorption through our new zinc oxide suspension will enable a whole new generation of technically superior products and improve performance in many industries," CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey.  Partha Dutta, Ph.D., stated. "Our suite of production capabilities allows us to achieve material performance only dreamed of until now."

Applied NanoWorks provides high quality nanomaterials services to meet both industrial research and manufacturing needs. Its proprietary technology offers high quality semiconductor, metal and oxide nanomaterials ranging from 2nm to 100nm and are available in volumes ranging from research quantities to high volume purchasing and production agreements.
