As part of the award ceremony, Dr. Hiraki Uchiike, associate professor of Hiroshima University, noted, "The AKT 3500 PECVD provides high uniformity, good film quality and higher throughput for array processing."

Other recipients of the Grand Prize award were Hitachi, for super TFT (thin film transistor) technology in the display module division, and Fuji Film in the materials division.

At the Fine Process Technology show, AKT exhibited its 3500-series process chamber modules for PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is a chemical process used to produce high-purity, high-performance solid materials.
