TTI, a private Montana corporation, owns Tour Information Systems ("TIS"), a development and marketing company specializing in the production and dissemination of interpretive programming. The initial focus of TIS has been to develop and market the TOURGUIDE System, a unique new interpretive product specifically designed to convey high quality interpretive programs for automobile tours.

Using the Sony Data Discman Electronic Player as a base, TIS, in collaboration with the Sony Corporation, articulated the technical design and manufacturing specifications of the TOURGUIDE System. The TOURGUIDE System has the latest in built- in interactive computer technology providing up to 360 minutes of information on hundreds of separate tracks on a built-in CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

Installation of the TOURGUIDE unit is easily accomplished by the visitor, through simply plugging the power cord into the vehicle cigarette lighter. The visitor then tunes the vehicle FM radio to the frequency shown on the TOURGUIDE unit, and is ready to receive a variety of information via CD which comes pre-installed in the unit. Visitors simply key in the pre-set chapter numbers found in the TOURGUIDE Map Brochure enclosed with each unit.

A third TOURGUIDE program is currently being developed for Everglades National Park in Florida.

The TOURGUIDE can be rented at various locations within each park for $24.95 for a day and a half. Visitors can pick up the device in one location and return it to another location within the park.

There are over 360 National Parks in the U.S. and over 2,000 around the world. In 1991, NPS reported that there were over 287.2 million visitors to the National Parks in the U.S. Management of TIS estimate that 1 to 2 percent of vehicles entering the given park will use the TOURGUIDE System.

Management of AIM still awaits certain pertinent documentation prior to closing this transaction and thereby has requested a further extension.
