Applied Innovation names new Vice President of Marketing.

Applied Innovation Inc. (Nasdaq:AINN) is pleased to announce the appointment of J. Dan Williams as Vice President of Marketing. Williams' appointment stems from Applied Innovation's continual efforts to provide telecommunications carriers, both domestically and internationally, with the best products and services there are in the industry.

As Vice President of Marketing, Williams' responsibilities will be to strategically advance the product line, raise the industry's awareness of the company and help to expand the company internationally.

Williams brings more than 16 years experience in the telecommunications industry to Applied Innovation. Mr. Williams began his telecom career in 1983 where he held industry related positions with the United States government and the US Air Force. Upon transition to the private sector, he has worked for several large telecommunications companies including Telenet, Sprint International, Equant (previously Scitor/ITS), CompuServe Network Services and most recently UUNET Technologies, an MCI WorldCom Company. Various positions were held with these companies, including Director of International Marketing and Strategic Alliances, Sr. Business Development Manager and Sr. Systems Engineer.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Mr. Williams holds degrees in both electrical engineering and computer and information sciences. An international business development expert specializing in Telecommunications & Internet based strategic alliances whose current execution spans 30+ nations today, Williams is an active member of the International Telecommunication Users Group (INTUG) where he often advises on regulation, policy matters, the adoption of new technology and other standards setting matters in both developed and emerging markets. He regularly speaks at international conferences as he actively participates in The Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Mr. Williams, wife Sheila and their four sons reside in Hilliard, OH.
