, Italy -- Applied Identity, a developer of identity-driven authorization solutions for monitoring and controlling access to internal networks, today announced the formation of a distribution partnership with Italy-based DI.GI. Security, a leading provider of security hardware and software solutions for medium and large enterprises.

DI.GI. chose to partner with Applied Identity (AI) as a result of the company's ability to meet current EU market needs for increased network security. AI's solutions enable DI.GI. to fulfill its customer requirements for network security solutions that provide high value with minimal impact to existing legacy systems and applications. Moreover, AI solution's have the important characteristic of being able to deploy quickly, utilizing an enterprise's existing software and human capital resources.

The main driver behind DI.GI's partnership with AI is the increasing requirement of the Italian company's enterprise customers for stricter network controls at the user level and the need for a detailed audit trail once a user is authenticated au·then·ti·cate

into the network. As AI's solutions are "post-connect," -- after a user is authenticated into the network -- they are highly complementary to the "pre-connect" technologies that are commonplace within the enterprise.

DI.GI. plans to offer AI's Identiforce(TM) solutions initially for three primary applications, including: the increased control of remote and contracted user access; the protection of high value assets such as confidential corporate data; and compliance with internal and external auditing requirements such as Market Abuse Directive (MAD) regulations governing EU public companies. In addition, DI.GI. customers using AI's products will see reductions in operational costs through the utilization of less network infrastructure, and in the implementation of policy in a single centralized cen·tral·ize

Some other key benefits of AI's product suite are: a true overlay technology utilizing existing network policy to control user access to company resources, and the ability to record and monitor user activity on the network based on a user's ID for network auditing and compliance.

"Applied Identity's Identiforce provides a unique solution for providing network access based on a user's identity," said Nissan Bahar, Security Division Manager of DI.GI. "Our enterprise customers have an immediate need for the building of controls pertaining per·tain

to user access into their networks and this partnership with Applied Identity enables us to deliver on this need in a rapid and robust manner. And significantly, the company's products leave a small footprint on our customers systems, while having an enormous positive impact on operational efficiency, compliance, and overall network security."

"We are proud to be working with DI.GI. Security -- they are well-respected in the international technology community, and have demonstrated a high level of professionalism and innovation over many years. AI's solutions are helping DI.GI to meet its Global 2000 customer needs in the near-term while enabling them to build into their networks an identity-based access control model for the future," commented Brian Nugent, President & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "DI.GI. Security's choice of Applied Identity speaks to both the unique and practical nature of our solution for meeting today's network security and compliance issues," stated Steve Momchilovich, of the International Business Development division for Applied Identity. "The applications that AI's solutions enable today for DI.GI's security infrastructure customers are raising the standards by which an expanded universe
