Applied Food Sciences Issued Patent for Producing Black Tea Rich in Theaflavins.

Applied Food Sciences, LLC (AFS(TM)) is pleased to announce it is the exclusive licensee of U.S. Patent No. 6,602,527 issued on Aug. 5, 2003. The patent covers a novel process that converts fresh tea leaves, or green tea, into a healthier, antioxidant rich black tea. The result is black tea that is rich in theaflavin antioxidants, which can then be brewed into a beverage or used to produce a potent theaflavin extract.
