Applied Extrusion Technologies announces first quarter earnings.


BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 1996--Applied Extrusion Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq NMS-AETC) announced that sales, net income and earnings per share for its fiscal 1996 first quarter ended Dec. 31, 1995 were $50,251,000, or $1,403,000 and $.13 per share, respectively, versus $50,742,000, $1,327,000 and $.19 per share in the same quarter of fiscal 1995. Net income was 5.7% higher in the 1996 quarter, while earnings per share were $.06 lower due to the larger number of shares outstanding as a result of a 3,450,000 share equity offering completed in August of 1995.
