Applied Digital Solutions Provides Preliminary Guidance On First Quarter 2002 Results; The Company Is EBITDA Positive and Will Recognize a Contribution to EPS.

PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2002

Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSX ADSX Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (stock symbol) ), an advanced technology development company, today provided preliminary guidance on the company's results for the first quarter of 2002, which ended March 31.

Applied Digital expects to report that it was EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) A metric used to show a company's profitability, but not its cash flow. EBITDA became popular in the 1980s to show the potential profitability of leveraged buyouts, but has become  positive for the first quarter and delivered a contribution to earnings per share.
