Selectica(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq:SLTC), the Internet Selling System (ISS) company, and Applied Biosystems (NYSE:PEB), a business of PE Corporation, today announced that Applied Biosystems will use Selectica's ISS software to enable configuration and sale of complex molecular biology products on the Applied Biosystems e-Commerce site.

Applied Biosystems will merge its current oligonucleotide and general e-Commerce systems into one global e-Commerce system, which is scheduled for deployment in 2001. Applied Biosystems will integrate Selectica's configurator technology into its existing systems so that all of its worldwide customers can select, configure and place orders online. Selectica's ISS will work with IBM(R) WebSphere(R) Commerce package enabling advanced configuration, pricing, quoting and order placement capabilities over the Internet. Selectica's ACE(R) Connector to SAP R/3 will integrate the ISS to Applied Biosystems existing sales fulfillment processes.
