), an Applera Corporation business, today announced that, effective immediately, Mark Stevenson has been appointed Division President, Molecular Biology molecular biology, scientific study of the molecular basis of life processes, including cellular respiration, excretion, and reproduction. Mr. Stevenson has been Division President, Applied Markets Division, since it was created in 2004. Prior to his current position, he was President and General Manager of Applied Biosystems Japan Ltd, responsible for directing the sales, service and support efforts in Japan. Previously, he had similar responsibility for Applied Biosystems' genomics and informatics business throughout Europe. He joined Applied Biosystems in 1998.

Dr. Klevan joined Applied Biosystems earlier this year as Vice President of R&D for Applied Markets. Prior to joining AB, he was Chief Executive Officer of ReliaGene Technologies, a forensic and paternity testing laboratory and previously he was President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of MiraiBio (Hitachi Genetic Systems), a subsidiary of Hitachi Software Engineering. Earlier in his career, he managed technology acquisition and business development for Life Technologies. Dr. Klevan has a BA in Chemistry from the State University of New York (body) State University of New York - (SUNY) The public university system of New York State, USA, with campuses throughout the state.  and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Yale University.
