The Firebox X line of integrated security appliances for small to midsize enterprises combines firewall, VPN, application-layer security, intrusion-prevention functionality, spam blocking, Web filtering and authentication in a single appliance. Each appliance features six Ethernet ports, enabling them to serve as both a perimeter security device and on interdepartmental firewall with an optional three-port upgrade. Intrusion-prevention capabilities inspect and block traffic at the application layer. The appliances ore designed to scale with an organization's growth, allowing customers to upgrade the appliance or activate advanced security features by applying a software license key.--WatchGuard
