Appliant Announces Agreement with HP to License Java Technology; Appliant's Java Verifier Provides Superior Testing Technology to Assist HP in Java-based Product Development.

Appliant, Inc., a developer of enterprise application performance management software, announced today a licensing agreement with Hewlett-Packard Company, a leader in enterprise and consumer computing platforms, that will allow HP to use components of Appliant's Java verifier technology for verification and testing of Java code used within HP products.

As enterprise IT and Internet application providers seek to provide a more flexible, low-cost yet safe end-to-end experience for their end users, active component technologies like Java are increasingly selected as the development environment of choice. Java developers and distributors of Java code need a way to verify and test the integrity of the code prior to distribution. Appliant has developed several unique technologies for monitoring and managing applications including a Java verifier that keeps Java code free of bugs and viruses that can harm distributed applications. In recent tests, Appliant's Java verifier found bugs in code that Java verifiers from other well-known companies failed to detect.
