Macintosh developer Apple Computer Corp has announced the immediate availability of its Xserve G5 server with over 30 gigaflops of processing power.

The new offering is a 1U rack-mount server that features dual G5 processing power together with Apple's Mac OS X Server software. This, according to the company, is designed to increase the power of the system as well as its performance and manageability.

Single processor 2.0GHz G5 servers are available now while dual processor versions will be made available in April.
