Appintec announces availability of MSWord Interface for TeleMagic/400 users; contact/activity management software expands wordprocessing capabilities.

TeleMagic/400 has the built-in ability to interface with many software systems on the AS/400 through the use of "User Exits" and additional data transfer capabilities of the AS/400. The availability of the seamless interface between TeleMagic/400 and MSWord will broaden Appentec customers' wordprocessing capabilities.

TeleMagic/400 users can create and store standard shell letters that can be used by any users on the system. At a single keystroke a user can create sales or support letters, price quotes, generate proposals and all other documentation required in maintaining close contact with prospects and customers.  correspondence can automatically be generated while talking on the phone with a customer. MSWord users will also be able to create mass mailings by selecting within the customer database on TeleMagic/400 and merge the information into a standard letter in MSWord.

Now users of MSWord can access the standard TeleMagic/400 electronic document management function which automatically centrally stores all documents created in MSWord by the company's primary ID on the TeleMagic/400 and creates a secondary ID for the recipient of the document. All documents created for a specific customer, no matter who creates the document, are stored in a single folder In a graphical user interface (GUI), a simulated file folder that holds data, applications and other folders. Folders were introduced on the Xerox Star, then popularized on the Macintosh and later adapted to Windows and Unix. In Unix and Linux, as well as DOS and Windows 3.  and can be viewed and/or printed at a single keystroke.
