It is a non-departmental public body and is registered as a charity in England. are inviting people in the city to play host to the visitors as part of an international exchange programme this September. Organisers of the Global Xchange scheme are appealing for homes to host two volunteers from the UK and Nepal for up to ten weeks, with living costs paid. This is the fourth year Birmingham has been selected as a host community for the programme. A total of 18 volunteers from the UK and Nepal, aged between 18 and 25, will contribute more than 6,000 hours of voluntary work to schools, homeless projects and day care centres.
