AppWorx Corporation (www.appworx.com), a longstanding Oracle partner, today announced the appointment of Gary Bloom, executive vice president of Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq:ORCL), to its board of directors.

Bloom heads product development for Oracle's database, application server and data warehousing product lines, and the optimization of Oracle technology on more than 90 hardware and software platforms. In his role as board member, Bloom will advise the AppWorx executive team on corporate and product strategies, and help position the company for accelerated growth.

Since joining Oracle in 1986, Bloom has had a long line of successes developing and marketing key Oracle technologies, including gateways between Oracle databases and other data sources, Oracle's parallel server technology for massively parallel systems, and Oracle's mainframe technology for IBM systems.
