AppNet and primeoutlets.com to Build Online Outlet Mall Devoted to Name Brands.


BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--

AppNet, Inc. (Nasdaq:APNT APNT Association of Physical and Natural Therapists ), a premier provider of end-to-end e-business solutions, and primeoutlets.com, an Internet subsidiary of Prime Retail, the world's largest developer/operator of name-brand manufacturer outlet centers, today announced an agreement to build and launch an online outlet mall An outlet mall (or outlet centre) is a type of shopping mall, in which manufacturers sell their products directly to the public through their own branded stores. Clothing, sporting goods, electrical products, cosmetics, and toys are among the types of items sold at outlet , featuring top brands, that offers a large assortment of value priced branded merchandise.

This relationship will create one of the Internet's largest online outlet mall shopping sites. The initial work order is worth $3.2 million to AppNet in the first phase alone. Post launch work orders to be negotiated by the parties are potentially valued at $17 million. AppNet will work with primeoutlets.com to develop the Web site's user interface and "back end" technology.

primeoutlets.com will draw on Prime Retail's relationships with hundreds of top manufacturers to aggregate fully-stocked online storefronts featuring value-priced merchandise from many of the premium brands now occupying space at the company's 51 outlet centers nationwide.
