AppNet, Inc. (Nasdaq: APNT), a premier provider of end-to-end e-business solutions, today announced that it has appointed three general managers.

These positions are newly created as part of AppNet's expansion and its plans to drive aggressive growth in the exploding business-to-business (B2B) marketplace.

The general managers will be responsible for managing full end-to-end delivery capabilities, customer relationships, and profit and loss at a regional level. As part of their assignments, the general managers will also be responsible for growing and ensuring that the company infrastructure is ready to deliver for larger contracts.

Randy L. Wiele joins AppNet from EDS, where he was President of its Electronic Business Unit, representing 3,500 employees and more than $500 million in annual revenue. In this position, Wiele was responsible for delivering e-business consulting, Internet applications, and e-commerce development services to global Fortune 1000 customers.

During Wiele's leadership of the e-commerce group at EDS, revenues grew 100 percent each year. In addition, Wiele directed the development of many new service offerings that were brought to market, and was responsible for the growth of EDS' e-commerce business in Europe and Asia.

Wiele spent 15 years with EDS, building his experience in manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, and pharmaceutical industries with a significant variety of roles and responsibilities. Wiele has sat on the Boards of Directors for RosettaNet and CommerceNet.

James Fanella joins AppNet from Unisys, where he was the Managing Principal for Unisys Corporation's Financial Services Consulting Practice for the U.S. In this position Fanella was responsible for full practice profit and loss, business development, defining service line core competencies, delivery methodologies, and strategic alliances.

Fanella grew the division more than 100 percent each year to $75 million today. Prior to Unisys, Fanella spent five years as a Senior Project Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation's Systems Practice. Fanella has over 20 years experience consulting to the Insurance and Banking industries.

John McBeth brings more than 20 years of information technology experience to his newly appointed position. McBeth was the former Division President of AppNet's Laurel office, which has grown 70 percent over the past 12 months. McBeth has been responsible for bringing in numerous multi-million dollar AppNet accounts.

McBeth also spent six years at General Electric, where he was responsible for the development of one of the largest image processing facilities in the world that receives images from NASA's LANSAT satellite. McBeth is a member of the Computer Science Advisory Board to the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
