AppManager modules. (Internet Focus).NetIQ, have released six software modules providing IT administrators with a user-level view of network and application performance. AppManager ResponseTime modules extend AppManager from managing systems and applications to managing end-user (job) end-user - The person who uses a computer application, as opposed to those who developed or support it. The end-user may or may not know anything about computers, how they work, or what to do if something goes wrong. response time and provide additional insight into network performance. The new AppManager Response Timemodules emulate em·u·late tr.v. em·u·lat·ed, em·u·lat·ing, em·u·lates 1. The modules include: AppManager ResponseTime for Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox. --AppManager ResponseTime for Microsoft SQL SQL in full Structured Query Language. Server-AppManager ResponseTime for Microsoft Active Directory --AppManager ResponseTime for Oracle RDBMS--AppManager ResponseTime for Lotus Domino and AppManager ResponseTime for Networks The application-specific AppManager ResponseTime modules use synthetic transactions to simulate simulate - simulation performance between client and server. The modules ship with pre-defined scripts to model the typical transactions found in everyday application use. They are also deployed in the same locations, including remote offices, as the user population, and function without putting additional load on the server. Exchange administrators can profile the response time a user in a remote office will see when they open their mailbox A simulated mailbox in the computer that holds e-mail messages. Mailboxes are stored on disk as a file of messages, a database of messages or as an individual file for each message. The standard mailboxes are usually In, Out, Trash and Junk (Spam). to check mail, and be alerted if performance falters. AppManager ResponseTime for Networks reports on the application-level performance of specific network paths. Out of the box, this module includes more than 100 network scripts covering 30 common applications, including SAP R3, Citrix, Exchange, Notes, Oracle and Web. By emulating application flows, ResponseTime for Networks allows AppManager users to determine whether or not performance problems are caused by the network. www.netiq.com |
