) Wednesday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, the University of Phoenix, will begin offering Certified Internet Webmaster See CIW.  (CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) A program of certification from Prosoft Learning Corporation for professionals specializing in Internet technologies. CIW instructor-led training is offered by authorized training organizations and academic institutions. ) certification courses from ProsoftTraining.com (Nasdaq: POSO).

The courses will be available at select campuses beginning in January 2001.

"Today's announcement means that a large share of our students will now have access to CIW, the de facto standard Hardware or software that is widely used, but not endorsed by a standards organization. Contrast with de jure standard.
