) Monday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, the University of Phoenix (UOP (micro OPeration) The "u" is the substitute letter for the µ symbol. See microinstruction. ), has received state approval to offer postsecondary education in Ohio and Missouri.

UOP has also received approval from our accrediting body, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) is one of six regional accreditation organizations recognized by the United States Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditation. , to operate in Ohio, Missouri, and Massachusetts.

We will be opening new campus locations in the following areas: Cleveland, St. Louis and Boston. We anticipate enrolling students at these new campus locations during the first six months of fiscal 2001.
