subsidiaries. The Chromacol Group manufactures and distributes chromatography vials and related products principally in the European marketplace. The Chromacol Group will be operated under Apogent's National Scientific subsidiary, which currently supplies chromatography vials and related products primarily to the United States market.

Epsom Glass Limited manufactures chromatography vials and related products and is Chromacol Limited's principal supplier. Chromacol Limited distributes chromatography vials, inserts and accessories throughout Europe and commands important brand recognition in that marketplace. Chromacol also distributes its products in the United States through Amchro Inc.

National Scientific is a significant supplier in the United States of chromatography vials, inserts and accessories, many of which are sourced by National Scientific from third-party manufacturers. The acquisition of the Chromacol Group will enable National Scientific to expand its European customer base, achieve distribution efficiencies in the United States and improve plant and equipment utilization within the acquired companies. Among other things, National Scientific will engage Epsom Glass as a key manufacturer of chromatography vials and related products for National Scientific rather than relying on third-party manufacturers for these items.

Craig Jack, President of Apogent's National Scientific subsidiary, stated that "The acquisition of the Chromacol Group will enhance our position in the global chromatography vial market and will generate operating and production efficiencies for National Scientific."

Commenting on the Chromacol Group acquisition, Apogent's President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
