Apogee will demonstrate at CES its newest DDX processor, the DDX-8000. This device combines an advanced digital audio processor with Apogee's patented DDX processing, supporting up to eight channels of high efficiency audio amplification at up to 100 watts per channel. The DDX-8000 full-range of digital audio functions reduce system complexity providing manufacturers a one chip processing solution for multi-channel audio applications.

Apogee will also display the PS350, a switched mode power supply (SMPS SMPS Society for Marketing Professional Services

) design based upon the company's proprietary power converter technology. This patent pending technology provides high quality power conversion in a compact size while satisfying the unique requirements of audio applications. The PS350 provides 350 watts of continuous power and 600 watts peak with excellent dynamic regulation. Its high efficiency allows the PS350 to fit in the same space occupied by a typical SMPS design of one half the power. The PS350 was developed to meet the needs of 6x100W DDX amplifier applications, but can be customized to provide over 1000 watts.

The DDX-8000 is currently being shipped in production quantities. Apogee will work with customers to tailor the PS350 to meet specific applications and can support production deliveries in the second quarter of 2002.
