Apogee Networks Bolsters Worldwide Sales Channel With Opening of European Office; Names Coleman EMEA Vice President of Sales.

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 1999--Apogee Networks, leaders in usage-based network billing solutions, today announced it has expanded its aggressive sales strategy with the opening of its first overseas sales office in Europe. Simultaneously, the company announced the appointment of Brad Coleman as EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Vice President of Sales. Coleman will have overall responsibility for the Apogee European business operations and will head up sales for the company's flagship product, NetCountant.

Coleman will work closely with Apogee's management, marketing and customer service organizations to ensure the global success of NetCountant, the award-winning usage-based billing system for global enterprises and ISPs. NetCountant provides enterprises with new control over the usage patterns and deployment decisions that cause WAN costs to escalate unchecked. These early adopter Fortune 1000 organizations are quantifying and measurably improving the efficiency and ROI of their global networks, saving as much as $10-15 million. In the ISP market, NetCountant enables service providers to leverage content-based e-commerce strategies in support of corporate clients.

Most recently, as a consultant for Freegate Corporation, he successfully set up the distribution channel for the EMEA Northern Region. Prior to Freegate, Coleman was the Regional Distribution Sales Manager for Ascend Communications, responsible for managing the channels in the UK and Nordic territories. In this role, he grew the Nordic business from $300,000 to $2 million in seven months.

Earlier in his career, Coleman worked with some of Europe's largest VARs and systems integrators including Siemens Nixdorf, SHL, Control Data Systems, SEMA FM and Computacenter.
