MILPITAS, Calif. & MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT), and Aperto Networks, developer of the world's most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units, today announced that ADC has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Aperto Networks, to supply its complete family of carrier grade WiMAX products as the Digivance(R) WMX product family. The Aperto portfolio includes the world's first carrier grade base station certified by the WiMAX Forum(TM).

Under terms of the agreement, ADC will offer Digivance WMX WiMAX solutions to customers seeking a versatile platform for maximizing revenue opportunities. With this expansion of the Digivance portfolio, service providers can now offer a broad range of voice, data, and multimedia services while driving down the OPEX and CAPEX costs incurred to scale their networks. The Digivance WMX 5000 will be featured at CTIA Wireless 2006 in ADC's Booth #117, and Aperto's Booth #4159, April 5-7 in Las Vegas.

Built for performance, reliability and scale, the Digivance WMX 5000 is designed for modular growth and service evolution, and operates in licensed and license-exempt bands. The Digivance WMX 5000 hardware is based on Aperto's PacketMAX technology and complies with the ATCA (Advanced Open Telecom Platform) open standard that incorporates the latest advances in reliability, availability and serviceability for carrier grade, high-speed telecommunications.

According to Infonetics Research, Inc., from an almost non-existent market in 2004, worldwide WiMAX revenue surged 759 percent in 2005, hitting $142.3 million. The international market research group forecasts the worldwide WiMAX equipment market to continue expanding rapidly, with a five-year unit CAGR of 139 percent between 2005 and 2009, when the market reaches $1.6 billion.
