Apartments which fit like a glove; in association with fish 4 homes Developer puts his signature on hi-tech living.Byline: By JANE ELLIS IMAGINE this: you arrive at the entrance of your luxury apartment and instead of looking for your keys you just pass your hand over a fingerprint scanner. Once inside you simply press a button and the lights come on, the curtains draw themselves and the TV tunes into your favourite channel. It might sound like something from the future but all this is available right now at the newly developed Signature apartments in Victoria Street, Liverpool city centre. A former warehouse has been transformed into 12 high spec apartments with a starting price starting price n (COMM) → precio inicial starting price n → prix initial starting price start n (at auction of pounds 140,000. It's the first property development project of businessman Lawrence Kenwright, who founded the chain of Yes shops. "I've put everything into it, it's been a real labour of love," he says. "I went and looked at a lot of other apartments in the city and thought they were all magnolia Magnolia, city, United States Magnolia (măgnō`lyə), city (1990 pop. 11,151), seat of Columbia co., SW Ark.; inc. 1855. Under floor heating, plasma TVs, double jacuzzi bath, and remote control mood lighting are just a few of the features available for these luxuriously designed properties. The stunning show apartment boasts a top of the range Bose audio visual system and a rejuvenating waterfall waterfall, a sudden unsupported drop in a stream. It is formed when the stream course is interrupted as when a stream passes over a layer of harder rock—often igneous—to an area of softer and therefore more easily eroded rock; the edge of a cliff or shower. Lawrence explains: "You can lie in bed and at the press of a button open the curtains, put the TV and lights on. "With the press of another button a curtain comes down between the bedroom and bathroom and this becomes a screen for watching movies in bed so you have your own mini cinema. "The iMerge server system allows you to download any song or film available on the internet so you can build up your own extensive music and film library." He says prospective buyers don't have to have everything that's on offer, the apartments can be tailor made to their tastes. "The development is called Signature because I want each to be unique, each to have its own signature, done in a style and with the facilities designed for the buyer." The apartments, which are due for completion at the end of April, range from pounds 144,000 to pounds 450,000 for the three bedroom duplexes which are 2,000 square foot. So who will this hi-tech property appeal to? "When designing them I had the single, affluent guy who likes living in the city centre in mind," says Lawrence. "It is geared towards men but everyone who sees the apartments is taken with them, men and women alike. They are about fashion and style as well as being hi-tech." Many original features have been carefully restored. Original windows have been soundproofed and frame a beautiful view of the rooftops and towers of the historical buildings of upper Victoria Street. The style is elegant and modern with an ethnic twist. Hand-carved wooden furniture was imported from Bali, sourced by Zen in Bold Street. Two enormous wooden-framed mirrors are mounted on the exposed brick walls and the lighting system is programmed to shine through the carvings. Lawrence is so pleased with his development, he is going to be living in one of the apartments himself. "I am currently renovating the house where I live so I am going to be staying here," he says. And the property development bug has certainly taken a hold. Says Lawrence: "I am looking at doing another apartment development and a boutique hotel Boutique hotel is a term originating in North America to describe intimate, usually luxurious or quirky hotel environments.
