Apartment tips available.A brochure entitled "Energy Saving Tips for Apartment Dwellers" to help residents cope with possible electricity shortages this summer is available at cost from the Real Estate Board of New York. The pamphlet tells occupants how to conserve electricity and reduce their energy bills, particularly during the peak load hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. when demand and power rates are highest. REBNY President Steven Spinola said, "Conscientious energy conservation by apartment dwellers, especially at peak demand times, can help New York avoid power brownouts A lowering of AC power voltage for some period of time. Brownouts can be very harmful to electronic equipment if sustained for long periods. Brownouts can cause flickering or a dimming on screen, and the computer may experience intermittent problems as a result. The brochure we've prepared with our colleagues from leading business and environmental organizations offers New Yorkers a chance to do themselves and their city a lot of good." The price of the brochure is $135 per 1,000 copies, or $25 per 100 copies, plus tax and shipping.
